Frequently asked questions

What armor steel grades do you process?

We have practical experience working with Armox (500, 600), Armstal (450, 500), Ramor (500, 550), Miilux Protection and wear-resistant Hardox steels. If you have another grade – contact us, we will assess processing feasibility on our equipment.

Why can't armor steel be processed like regular steel?

Armor steel has hardness of 300–600 HB and martensitic structure that provides protective properties. Overheating during cutting or welding changes this structure and reduces ballistic protection. Improper bending radius causes cracks. Therefore each operation requires strict adherence to modes of specific grade.

Are protective properties preserved after welding?

Yes, provided correct mode is maintained. We use soft austenitic or ferritic welding materials, control preheat (only 150°C in weld zone) and inter-pass temperature. This preserves armor steel structure outside weld zone.

What armor steel products have you manufactured?

We are manufacturers of Iron Will mobile shelters for civilians and Parabella shelters for military – certified and coded to NATO standards. We also execute orders for armor panels, protective screens, vehicle armor elements and other structures to customer drawings.

How much does armor steel product manufacturing cost?

Cost depends on armor steel grade and thickness, structure complexity, number of operations and order volume. Armor steel is more expensive than regular and more complex to process – this affects price. Describe your task or send drawings – we will calculate individually.

What are production timelines?

Depends on structure complexity and availability of required armor steel grade and thickness. Simple products – from 5-7 business days. Complex structures or batch orders – from 2 to 4 weeks. Timelines agreed after technical specification analysis.
