    Frequently asked questions

    How much does hardening cost?

Cost depends on part size and weight, steel grade, required mode (hardening, tempering, normalization) and batch quantity. Simple parts – from 100 UAH/unit. Large or complex products we calculate individually.

What hardness can be achieved after hardening?

Depends on steel grade. For structural steels (St45, 40X) – typically 45–55 HRC. For tool steels (У8, ШХ15) – up to 60–65 HRC. Exact value determined after grade and requirement analysis. We control results by hardness measurement.

What is the difference between hardening and tempering?

Hardening increases steel hardness by rapid cooling after heating. But hardened parts become brittle. Therefore after hardening we usually perform tempering – reheat to lower temperature – to relieve brittleness and achieve optimal hardness-plasticity combination.

Can you harden parts not manufactured by you?

Yes, we accept heat treatment of third-party parts. Bring finished products – we determine steel grade (or clarify with you), select mode and perform hardening. Only requirement is part must be from hardenable steel.

    Will part deform after hardening?

Minimal deformations are possible, it’s part of the process. We minimize them by proper mode selection and cooling method. For parts with high precision requirements we leave allowance for finish machining after hardening – grinding or honing.

    What are completion timelines?

Small batches – from 1-2 business days. Large volumes or parts requiring multiple heat treatment cycles (hardening + tempering) – from 3 to 5 business days. If order includes part manufacturing – timelines agreed comprehensively.
